Mint-Condition Set of Pokemon Cards Sold For $107KNew Trailer ‘Pokemon Sword and Shield’ Reveals Team Yell Punks Stay on target Pokémon Sun and Moon is just around the corner, and Nintendo’s kept up with almost weekly updates on what we can expect with the new games. Earlier today on the Official Pokémon YouTube Channel, we got proper introductions to the final evolutions for each of the new starting Pokémon plus some additional news. We’ll start with Rowlett, the Grass-Flying starter. Rowlett evolves into Dartrix who then evolves into Decidueye, a portmanteau of deciduous trees and… well… eye. Because owls. Decidueye (I’m never going to get used to typing that) looks a bit like Robin Hood in owl form and has a special attack — spirat shackle, which prevents your opponent from switching out.Next up Incineroar, Litten’s final evolution. She looks something like a professional wrestler with a flaming belt around the waist and muscles on top of muscles. Incineroar’s signature move, darkest lariat, will ignore any status changes your foe’s put on themselves. So if they’ve increased their evasiveness or defense, you can cut strait through and attack regardless. Finally, we have Popplio’s last form, Primarina. Her special attack, Sparkling Aria, is a bit perplexing. In the video, it’s clearly shown to be an offensive attack, but it also heals the burns of any Pokemon it hits. Given that burning an opponent’s Pokemon would be beneficial for you, it’s not clear why you’d want to take that off and essentially heal your enemy — but, we’ll see. Maybe it has some special use in double or team battles. Also worth mentioning are the type changes for each of the starters. Decidueye drops its prior forms’ flying typing for Ghost, Incinerorar becomes a Dark type, and Primarina gets fairy typing — this should make for some really interesting match-ups with friends who pick different starters. It’s well-known that the setting for Pokemon Sun and Moon, Alola, is loosely based on the Hawaiian Islands. Each island also has their own guardian spirit Pokemon. We saw the first, Tapu Koko, the protector of Melemele Island a few months ago, but we got brief looks at the other three, as well as each of their special Z-Moves in today’s video.Tapu Lele is a Psychic-Fairy type and protects Akala island. Its special ability is Psychic Surge, which causes the battle to “get weird.” Tapu Bulu guards Ula’ula Island with the grass surge technique, which gradually drains health from opponents. And, last Tapu Fini is Poni island’s resident Water-Fairy Pokemon. Its ability, Misty Surge, like Tapu Lele’s, doesn’t have a clear effect, so we’ll have to wait for the final game to see how those abilities work. Each of the Tapu Pokemon shares the special Z-move Guardian of Alola, which transforms them into a giant golem that can crush enemies. There are a few other announcements and features in the trailer, including Cosmog, an adorable Psychic Pokemon, as well as Persian’s Alolan form.Perhaps most interesting is that you’ll see the foundation of the Alolan Pokemon League, battle with other famous trainers like Cynthia from Diamond and Pearl as well as Red and Blue — the protagonist/rival pair from the original Pokemon games, marking their first appearance since Black 2 and White 2.If anything, this trailer has me thinking I have a Poke-Problem. I know I shouldn’t be, but I’m irrationally excited for Sun and Moon. What about you, did you find anything interesting about today’s reveals?
