The victory was the second straight for the Cowgirls as they improve to 3-1 on the season. Arkansas (2-1-1) suffered its first loss. “This was definitely the biggest non-conference win in the history of the program,” said head coach Drew Fitzgerald whose team was without sensational sophomore goalkeeper Emma Roccaforte who left the game in the 32nd minute after butting heads with teammate Nola Prickett when making a save on a Razorback shot. True freshman backup keeper Gabrielle Christy entered the game and kept the Razorbacks out of the net until the 78th minute when Arkansas tied the game at 1-1 by Tori Cannata on a double assist set up by Carly Hoke and Parker Goins. The final minute of regulation took the breath out of the fans in attendance. With just over a minute left in regulation, the Cowgirls took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Morgan Middleton who beat the Arkansas goalkeeper in a one-on-one matchup after receiving the pass from Johnson. “I saw both the defenders go towards the half and she (Johnson) just played me a perfect ball,” said Middleton whose goal was her first on the season. “I had a one-on-one with the keeper and I just had to place it on net.”Arkansas had a quick response, scoring only 20 seconds later on a goal by Taylor Malham to tie the game at 2-2 to force the overtime. After a scoreless first overtime period, the Cowgirls struck late for the game-winner which was set up by a free kick cross by Dayna Garcia into the box that was one-touched by Prickett and rebounded by Johnson for the easy tap-in for the game-winner and her third goal of the season. “I honestly didn’t think I would be in the position to score the last goal,” said Johnson. “Nola got on it and it just fell perfectly at my feet. I had a wide-open goal and I tapped it in.” Christy finished up the game in the net for her first collegiate victory with seven saves in 74 minutes of action. McNeese got on the board first when Keely Morrow punched in the game’s first goal on a penalty kick in the 20th minute for her first goal of the season and a 1-0 Cowgirl lead. Arkansas outshot McNeese 19-15 and just 12-10 in shots on goal.
Pink and pastel shades have proved very popular from season to season and it looks set to continue – well for another while anyway! Patrick asked Elaine, one of our Artistic Directors and Master Colour Experts, for her view on pink shades for the upcoming months. Elaine says this season has lots of creative options for colour but one colour that isn’t going away is rose gold. Pastel hair shades of course are nothing new but there is something so pretty and feminine about this latest hue. Rose gold is a beautiful mix of red and pink shades that looks almost natural in certain lights and is perfect for those that want to try the pastel look without going over the top or for those that can’t quite commit to full-on fiery red but really want a colour change. Some of the major A-list stars have showcased this gorgeous colour – Blake Lively, Sienna Miller and Emma Roberts have rocked rose gold – but the most recent beauty to embrace rose gold is Kylie Jenner and, although we love her natural darker locks, she can definitely pull off this look. Elaine says that rose gold can be worn differently depending on your colouring and can work well on both blondes and brunettes. This colour works well on all skin types and can be personalised easily with the placement of colour. You don’t necessarily need to go with a full-head effect, if you would like something with a little more subtlety opt for an ombre colouring technique, which will give such a beautiful result. If like us you can’t wait to try out the trending #RoseGoldHair colour you will be pleased to know that we offer Complimentary Colour Consultations with our Master Colour Experts.
